https://pages.collegeboard.org/big-future-days?SFMC_cid=EM424052-&rid=47352368.  These are terrific opportunities for your student to connect with college reps and learn more about possible college options.  Each session will feature colleges from a given region of the country.  This could be a good opportunity to "get your feet wet", ask specific questions if you have them, and learn a bit more about schools that may have piqued your interests.

Colleges are offering personalized virtual visits to MNHS daily.  The list of current visits/dates are in Naviance.  More college sessions are being added weekly so be sure to check back regularly.  Students must sign up for visits through their Naviance account in order to receive the link to participate.  Instructions for signing up are in Naviance on the student's home page.  Students are responsible for emailing their teacher(s) in the event a college visit conflicts with their class time.

PHEAA is offering webinars throughout January: "Understanding the Financial Offer/Award Letters" and "Understanding Student Loan Differences."   Many students and families have or will be receiving their financial aid offers and want to understand options for paying their balances.  Both of these webinars will address those questions.  While these topics can be confusing, families can receive some comfort in understanding the process and deciphering the information by joining PHEAA for these webinars.  Please see the attached flyer and/or click here to register. 

A+ College Financial Solutions is offering a free online College Financial Workshop.  Financial aid stands to be one of the best available resources in making college affordable. The federal form you submit to colleges, that unleash your financial aid, will look at your tax returns from 2 years prior to your child’s graduation.  In today’s changing economy, those comparative numbers are constantly in flux, so you want to understand how this system works. During our workshop, we will explain to you how to navigate the Financial Aid process, how to lower your Expected Family Contribution, which is what you are expected to pay for your child's education, and ultimately how to make your money work for you and your child while working through this process.
