Colleges Visiting MNHS - Various colleges are offering personalized visits to MNHS throughout the fall. These visits are open to junior and senior students. During these visits, an admissions counselor from the college/university will meet with all interested MNHS students either virtually or in person. All visits, whether virtual or in-person, will take place in the CCAC. More college visits are being added weekly so be sure to check back regularly. The list of current visits are in Naviance. Students must sign up for visits through their Naviance account in order to participate. Instructions for signing up are in Naviance on the student's home page. Students are responsible for communicating with their teacher(s) in the event a college visit conflicts with their class time.
Seniors: Please be aware of your college application deadlines. All transcript requests are due in the CCAC office no less than 10 days prior to your application deadline.

Fran McKeown, from PHEAA, will be providing important information and updates to the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Come get your questions answered, find out what has changed and what you need to know to plan wisely for your student's college tuition. For parents of students in grades 9-11, this will provide valuable planning information. For parents of seniors, this information is very timely as the FAFSA opened on October 1 st. Fran McKeown, from PHEAA, will be hosting a Zoom session for parents of senior students. During the session, parents will be able to ask specific questions regarding the completion of their FAFSA. All families with a college bound senior, regardless of income, are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA. In preparation for this session, parents should have already opened and started their FAFSA. A Zoom link will be sent out in a future communication closer to the event.

Join A+ College Financial Solutions for a free online college financial planning workshop. Financial Aid stands to be one of the best available resources in making college affordable. The federal form you submit to colleges, that unleash your financial aid, will look at your tax returns from 2 years prior to your child’s graduation. Parents need to understand how this system works. During this workshop, we will explain to you how to navigate the Financial Aid process, how to lower your Expected Family Contribution, and ultimately how to make your money work for you and your child. A moderated Panel of undergraduate college admissions experts from a variety of institutions will provide information about whether or not students should submit test scores to test optional colleges and universities. They will also discuss how the application process has changed as a result of test optional admissions and what students can do to accentuate other important elements of the application.
